You’ll be equipped to use a mix of real and artificial adventure activities to reflect on experiences and apply your learnings in various real-life situations.\nDrawing from both South African and international research, this course is designed to arm you with a diverse set of skills. Get ready to understand the theory and practical applications of leveraging the outdoors and adventure to stimulate thought processes and drive behavioural change. It’s time to empower yourself with the tools you need for a meaningful journey into facilitation through the world of adventure!\nWho is this course for:\n\nThis course is for any person working with youth, community school teachers, adventure camp facilitators, human resources development officers, youth pastors, or any other person looking for a qualification in the Facilitation of Adventurous Experiential Learning.\nAgenda:\nDay 1\nTheoretical Foundation (online session)\nTo understand ethical conduct and its application in business, community and adventure practice.\nUnderstanding neurocognition.\nUnderstand diverse teaching and learning theories.\nTo understand foundational theories like Adventure, Experiential Education, Challenge Education, Risk, and many more as important components of an inclusive discipline.\nDay 2\nProgramme and person\nWhole-brain Facilitation: understanding yourself, and other people, inclusive relationships, diverse thinking, and strategies for how to work with different clients.\nAdventure Applications: how to distinguish when and how to utilise the best Recreation, Education, Development and Therapy for Adventurous Outcomes.\nDay 3\nProcess\nFacilitation: how practitioners become facilitators utilising adventurous experiences in an adventurous setting, reaching the client’s objective.\nReflection: the theory of analysing and looking back and looking into experiences to make more sense of them.\nDay 4\n\nApplication of theory \nIce breakers, problem-solving activities (nature, art, drama, etc).\nArtificial Wall Climbing, Archery – Inspection, presentation, application, safety.\nDay 5\nSelection of activities \nTechnical and Facilitation application – initial assessment.\nThis qualification is recognised by:\n\nSA Adventure Industry Association (SAAIA). Graduates will receive a one-year free membership to SAAIA.\nGraduates will have the opportunity to register for other Adventure Institute modules at a discounted rate.\nWe are registered as an Adventure Recreation Association (ARA) training provider.\n*Police clearance assisted (at an additional fee).\nThe cost includes: Manual, Full accommodation and catering for 4 nights.\nTransport is not included, Qualification certificate after assessment.\n\n
